FAQA topic reserved for Frequently Asked Questions ![]() LocalizationIt is possible to make the user interface of the whole site detect your browser language preferences, and show user interface text in that language. It won't translate user-submitted content, but it will translate all of the interface, for example the "add comment", "edit", "search", "syndicate", etc You can see an example of this here: http://socialsynergyweb.com/multilang If we think this is useful, it can be implemented... Sam Rose ![]() Content's language should probably match interfaceI would be in favor of matching the language of the interface with the language of the content. In our case English. I plan having Drupal sites for some of the events we should be having in France. In that case, that would be great to have a localized version of Drupal and people enter content in French. Possibly, these sites could be very close copycats to what we are putting in place for B&F Watch ![]() Languages: OkOk, makes sense. Enabling language loalization is not hard, will helpyou get it going when needed Sam Rose Social Synergy Web Weblog ![]() European accentuated languagesLet's see how this line shows after a couple of back and forth between the MySQL "utf-8 enabled" data base and the small javascript editor

Feedback welcome Sam Rose ![]() How to add an RSS feed for B&FWatch updates?I found the news aggregator, but seems meant for aggregating external feeds. Saw that you could subscribe on the different categories. But how can you get a feed for any update on B&F Watch. Would be nice to get a feed button on right side so anyone interested easily subscribe to this if we can get it at no cost; ![]() Feeds/aggregatorI thought eventually we might try using the aggregator for collecting feeds from bank and finance blogs, plus maybe a bibliography module for listing book resources. Working on getting feed icon in sidebar now (and getting to show up as live bookmark in Firefox).... Sam Rose ![]() Banking FeedsJust incorporated feeds created by barcampbankers the BankStatic All Star Feed and the BankStatic Master Feed ![]() You may have to clean your cookiesI had a problem loggin in with IE. Was entering the right user and pass, but didn't get logged-in. I had to clean files and delete a couple of cookies (in particular a php sess.ion cookie) before it resumed normal behavior ![]() Clean PHP Session cookieJust got the same problem of not being able to log-in with correct user name and password (this time on Firefox). I had to clean the PHP session cookie for barcampbank.org and then everything went back to normal. How do tou add a website?I wanted to add an entry but I did not find the way to add a website on bfwatch ? Nicolas ![]() Also Clear CacheYou may also need to clear browser cache in you browser preferences. Sorry fo inconvenience Sam Rose ![]() You have to be signed-in to add entriesNicolas, To add entries, you need to be signed-in. When signed-in you'll see on the right side of the page a menu with among other things "create content/entry". If you click on entry, you'll be directed to a form letting you add what you want. Cheers, Frederic ![]() also created menu item at topAlso created new menu item at top of page "Create New Entry" Sam Rose Problem when anonymousWhen you are accessing as anonymous, if you click on "Create New Entry" you get "Access denied". This is not self-explanatory. We should either present a more meaningful message explaining that people have to log-in, or we should make this menu item invisible for anonymous users. Cheers, Frederic ![]() Problem when anonymous - Solved!Try it now, directs people to create account and login. Once they do this, they'll get the form to create content... Sam Rose Access still deniedEven though logged in I can't create a page (entry?) Access denied. I heard people talk good about Drupal's configurability. Will need a while to understand. [[WikiNode|wiki-node]] The function to autocreate a title for a contribution from the first words of it and to force a preview showing this title as it will appear in the text by not offering a save button in the first step is brilliant! You see the title and immediately correct it - in the very right moment when your text is all present in your head after just finishing it. ![]() Create New Entry should work now....Permissions were set for admins only. I have changed to allow logged in users. Sam Rose |
