Enabled TinyMCE editorThis is actually the same editor that WordPress uses for content. Do you like it? Feedback welcome.... Also, has a smaller profle than FCKEditor, so it will slow down server less. Also added compression for when the editor is served By Sam Rose at 2007-08-30 15:51 | Help us improve this site | login or register to post comments | flag this | 59660 reads
Mixed results aboutTinyMCEAfter using TinyMCE for a couple of weeks, I have mixed feelings about it. While is is easier to add links with it and do basic formatting, there are still a couple of issues:
Please, people let us know what you think of using TiyMCE versus the standard field box. Frederic Baud FCKEditorAlso, FCKEditor is available. I think that for our group here, that we could probably disable such WYSIWYG editors. because we are mostly typing straight text. Just an opinion.
Although, it is possible to configure the default size of the editor, etc And, we could make all of the improvements additions mentioned by Frederic. I just have not had time over past couple of weeks to address. I will keep this on my list. We can try FCK editor, and/or try to improce TinyMCE as mentioned by Fred above. Or, we can forego any WYSIWYG editor at all. Sam Rose Social Synergy Web Weblog Why not try FCKEditorI'd be in favor of trying FCKEditor. I used this in the past and was mostly happy with it. I agree we type a lot of text and could do without any editor (puting the html anchors by hand when needed). But if it's not too much tgrouble, giving a try to FCKEDitor could be interesting. Frederic Baud FCKEditorSeems right. We should add the drop down list to let people switch from standard to expert mode. Frederic Baud TinyMCE Expert's interfaceIs there an expert interface. One thing I miss right now is a way to define the size of the text without editing the HTML code of a comment. Cheers, Frederic Baud check in admin interface for tinymce to see if text size exisitsNot sure exactly what you are looking for, but, in the admin functions are he set up for TinyMCE, and you may be able to add functions you are looking for... Sam Rose Social Synergy Web Weblog Getting navigating awayI keep having the popup "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?..." when pressing "Preview Comment" or "Post Comment" Frederic Baud Yes, I see what you mean. IYes, I see what you mean. I may have to edit the java script manually...
Also, I still need to address the "margins" problem...
Looking to see if I can find more info on this.... Sam Rose Social Synergy Web Weblog |
