Welcome to BarCampBank's community

Hi Steve,

Welcome to BarCampBank's community!

Maybe we'll meet at the next BarCampBank SF early next year http://barcamp.org/BarCampBankSF2.

There have also been rumours of a BCB in Los Angeles. Anyhow, I think you'll find the community a friendly and energizing place to share with other members.

P2P Lending overcrowding

There is apparently a wealth of new sites on the subject, which can cause concern for the viability of most of them. Then, we do not have yet a real demonstration of the viability of the business model. We know that this can work with Zopa and Prosper, but don't know yet if this is sustainable. Interesting times anyhow

P2P Lending explosion

there seems to be an explosion of p2p lending sites and entities. I wonder what will emerge from this? I wonder if they'll suffer from the same default problems, and low ROI for lenders that Prosper appears to be suffering from?

Home Equity Share: Wow

Wow! On first read, this actually looks like an amazing program, and could be a better deal in the long run than traditional mortgage/buying routes for many people, plus, this type of market could stimulate real estate economies

LendingClub: 10 Million in funding

Frederic baud reports on twitter that this company has received 10 Million in fudnign recently

http://blog.lendingclub.com/2007/08/23/three-questions-to-jeff-crowe-gen...

Also, I believe LendingClub has an application on FaceBook, as well. Would be interesting to compare LendingClub experiences with Prosper experience, such as that detailed at http://blog.socialsynergyweb.com/2007/08/16/the-prosper-lender-rebellion...
